The DAP NRG-15SA is an active subwoofer with a peak power of 1000 watts (500 watts continuous RMS). It uses a 15” woofer with a dual 3” voice coil to deliver bass down to 50 Hertz (-6 dB). It has enough power to comfortably produce up to 121 dB. It has an internal DSP with 4 useful modes for integration with a full-range NRG speaker or a customisable crossover frequency. The internal class D amplifier has a switched-mode power supply to keep the weight down and efficiency level up. The internal DSP also provides protection against overload, short circuit and thermal protection. Two XLR combo jacks accept the audio signal, which is looped through to two XLR outputs for driving a full-range speaker or an additional subwoofer.
The rugged, lightweight plywood enclosure has an M20 threaded insert for mounting a speaker pole. To get the most out of the NRG-15SA, we recommend using it in combination with a full-range speaker from the NRG range.
